What Happened at OutSystems One: Why You Should Attend

Listen Now

Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the OutSystems One Conference in Lisbon, Portugal, representing JustSolve one of the branding sponsors. The experience was amazing, filled with innovation, insights, and connections that left me and my fellow Solver and UX lead, Kimberleigh Philips-Page, inspired and excited about our current career trajectories. In this blog post, I'll share the highlights of the OutSystems One Conference and explain why you should consider attending this event.

The OutSystems One Conference is a global gathering of experts from around the world. At this event, you can connect with other developers, designers, and OutSystems experts. During our visit, we attended over 15 tech sessions, giving us a sneak peek at new tools on the horizon and the chance to meet some fantastic and inspiring people.

This event is hosted by OutSystems, a leading name in low-code application development. It's held in Lisbon and offers fantastic networking opportunities, informative keynotes, and opportunities for skill improvement. In 2023, the conference took place in Lisbon, Denver, and Bengaluru, showcasing its growing global presence. With its increasing popularity, the 2024 conference will be even bigger and better.

JustSolve is a proud sponsor at the OutSystems ONE Conference.

What can you expect at the conference?
1. Inspiring Keynotes and Talks

The conference started with some interesting keynote talks by tech industry experts. They talked about the future of technology and how low-code development is changing businesses worldwide.  They discussed things like OutSystems ODC and Project Morpheus, which are coming to OutSystems soon. These talks were not just informative; they were inspiring. I'm really looking forward to trying out Project Morpheus when it's released.

Over the course of this two-day conference, there were more than 40 talks, and I found myself wishing I could clone myself to attend even more sessions. As a front-end developer, I was particularly drawn to the 'Fresh Outlooks' category, which offered a treasure trove of front-end tips and tricks. Additionally, the 'High Adoption Experience' category was a standout for me, featuring sessions like vision workshops, extending the OutSystems UI framework, and mastering design systems, just to name a few.

2. Networking Opportunities

The conference served as a vibrant networking hub, bringing together professionals from a wide range of industries. The diverse crowd made it effortless to initiate conversations, share ideas, and establish valuable connections. Whether you’re  searching for potential collaborators, OutSystems mentors, or just like-minded individuals, this event offered an ideal platform for meaningful networking. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet people you might have previously encountered online, perhaps during user group sessions or while reading their articles, or even when using components, they've created on the Forge. The networking possibilities were truly limitless.

Now that you know what happened at ONE let me tell you why you should try and attend next year.
1. Stay Ahead of Trends

The tech industry evolves rapidly, and keeping up with the latest trends is vital for professional growth. Attending OutSystems One will immerse you in cutting-edge technologies, innovative ideas, and best practices. It's not just about staying ahead of industry trends but also being at the forefront of OutSystems' own developments, including ODC and the exciting new project, Morpheus.

2. Expand Your Knowledge and Skills

These tech sessions and technical sessions are great opportunities to improve your skills. Whether you're a developer, designer, or in management, you will gain valuable insights to apply in your work.

3. Networking and Collaboration

Once more, this conference offered an abundance of opportunities and fostered an excellent environment for networking. You'll have the chance to connect with professionals hailing from diverse backgrounds and industries, opening doors to potential collaborations, partnerships, and even job prospects.

Lastly, the location itself is a compelling reason to attend. Lisbon is a stunning city with a rich cultural heritage, making it an ideal backdrop for the conference. Take some time to explore the city, its historic sites, and delicious cuisine while you're in town.
